How to Play:
- Number of Players:
- Works best with multiple teams of 4-8 players each. For larger groups, consider multiple games running simultaneously on separate fields.
What You’ll Need:
- Open space for playing (large field, park, or playground)
- Flags (brightly colored cloth or bandanas) – one per team
- Marking tape or cones to designate team territories and a neutral zone (optional)

- Gameplay:
- Form Teams: Divide players into two teams with roughly equal numbers.
- Define the Playing Field: Establish the playing area and clearly mark the boundaries of each team’s territory. You can also designate a neutral zone in the center where players cannot be tagged.
- Flag Placement: Each team hides their flag strategically within their designated territory. The flag should be visible but not too easy to grab.
- The Game Begins!: On your signal, the game starts! Players can move freely within their own territory and venture into the opposing team’s territory to capture their flag.
- Tag, You’re It!: If a player from one team is tagged by a player from the opposing team in enemy territory, they are considered “out” and must return to their own base to be tagged by a teammate and re-enter the game.
- Strategic Capture: Players can employ various strategies to capture the flag. This could involve a decoy runner to distract the opposing team, a coordinated sneak attack, or a strategic use of the neutral zone (if designated) for planning and regrouping.
- Capture and Return!: To win, a team must successfully capture the opposing team’s flag, bring it back to their own territory without being tagged, and touch their own flag with the captured flag.
- Victory or Rematch!: The team that successfully captures and returns the opposing team’s flag wins the game! You can play multiple rounds with teams switching territories or have a best-out-of-three format for a longer competition.

Estimated Playtime:
- A single round of Capture the Flag can last anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on the size of the playing field, the number of players, and the strategies employed. A full game with multiple rounds can last 30 minutes or longer.

- Themed Capture the Flag: Add a fun theme to the game, such as pirates vs. ninjas, to make it more engaging. Players can dress up according to the theme.
