Description

Pallankuzhi is a classic strategy game that has been played in India for centuries. It is a game of strategy and counting that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The game is played on a board with fourteen pits, seven on each side. Each pit initially contains six seeds. Players take turns sowing the seeds from one of their pits, moving counterclockwise around the board. The goal of the game is to capture more seeds than your opponent.

How to Play

  • Number of Players Required: 2 players

  • What You’ll Need

    • Pallankuzhi board
    • 144 seeds (usually tamarind seeds)
  • Gameplay

    1. Each player has seven pits on their side of the board.
    2. Each pit initially contains six seeds.
    3. Players take turns sowing the seeds from one of their pits.
    4. To sow seeds, take all the seeds from one of your pits and distribute them counterclockwise into the subsequent pits.
    5. If the last seed lands in a pit that already contains seeds, you continue sowing from that pit.
    6. If the last seed lands in your own store pit, you get an extra turn.
    7. The game ends when one player has captured all of the seeds.
    8. The player with the most seeds wins the game.

Winning Criteria: The player with the most seeds wins the game.
