Hop Scotch is a classic outdoor game that’s fun for kids of all ages. It’s easy to learn and can be played with just a few simple materials.
Description
To play Hop Scotch, you’ll need a piece of chalk and a small stone or beanbag. You’ll also need to find a flat, open area to play in.
To start the game, draw a Hop Scotch grid on the ground. The grid should have 10 squares, arranged in two rows of five. The squares should be about 1 foot wide and 2 feet long.
Once the grid is drawn, you’re ready to start playing. The first player tosses the stone or beanbag onto the first square. The player then hops on one foot into the first square and picks up the stone or beanbag. The player then hops on one foot into the second square, then the third square, and so on. The player must hop over the square with the stone or beanbag in it.
If the player successfully hops through all of the squares without falling, they turn around and hop back through the squares in the opposite direction. The player must hop over the square with the stone or beanbag in it again.
If the player falls or steps on a line, they lose their turn and the next player takes over.
