Reversi is a simple board game simulating the battle of two rivals on a grid. The main objective of the game is to capture your opponent’s pieces by surrounding them with your own, flipping them over to your colour and expanding your control over the board.
Description
Reversi is played on an 8×8 grid board starting with four pieces – two white and two black – in the middle of the board. Each player takes turns placing a piece of their colour on an empty square on the board, with the goal of capturing their opponent’s pieces by surrounding them in a complete line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. When a player’s piece is surrounded in this way, it is flipped over to the other player’s colour and becomes part of their forces.

- When a player places a piece, they must capture any of their opponent’s pieces that are orthogonally adjacent (to the left, right, up, or down) and are flanked by two of their own pieces.
- Captured pieces are flipped over to the player’s colour and become part of their forces.
- Players continue to place pieces and capture their opponent’s pieces until one player has no legal moves remaining.
- The game ends when neither player can make a move. The player with the most pieces of their colour on the board wins the game.
